Join the team and become part of an industry-leading sports and entertainment organization.Once you've had a chance to explore our current open positions, apply to the ones you feel suit you best and keep track of both your progress in the selection process, and new postings that might interest you!Thanks for your interest in working on our team!A skate on every foot, a hockey jersey on every back!Job Title:Skating InstructorPay Details:The starting hourly rate for this position is $32.00 per hour.This position is responsible for teaching skating skills in groups, supporting company or facility events, and promoting The Rinks while embodying the company's values and mission.ResponsibilitiesInstruct group classes in various formats, including our Learn-to-Skate Program, Home School Program, community classes, facility and company-sponsored events, figure skating camps, etc.Follow the facility's Learn-to-Skate curriculum (based on U.S. Figure Skating's "Learn to Skate USA" model) and agree to attend PowerPlay sessions if teaching LTS or other Group Classes (Academy)Assist in the production and promotion of facility shows and competitionsProvide positive, constructive feedback when evaluating skatersMaintain a professional and ethical approach to a growing clienteleMeet all company standards and comply with instructor guidelinesInteract with customers in a welcoming and professional manner while promoting The Rinks' valuesCommunicate facility and company program information to guests and support the company's pursuit of excellence in all areas of figure skating, hockey, and recreational skatingProvide recommendations for skater advancement through the programs offered in The Rinks facilitiesPerform other duties as assignedSkillsMinimum 18 years of ageHigh School Diploma/GED preferred but not requiredExperience in the sport of figure skating, including competitive history, show experience, and/or coaching experienceComprehensive knowledge of U.S. Figure Skating, Learn to Skate USA, and the Professional Skaters AssociationActively pursuing education opportunities within the sport and has a PSA Basic Accreditation or USFS Level 1 Coach AccreditationFor an LTS Instructor and Junior Instructor (no private lessons): Has current Learn To Skate USA Instructor Membership OR current USFS Coach Compliance and MembershipFor Skating Instructors (private lessons): Has current U.S. Figure Skating Coach Compliance (See U.S. Figure Skating website for a list of requirements)Present a consistent, professional, motivating, and enthusiastic teaching style and able to direct a class efficiently using time management skillsPassionate about growing the sport of figure skating and involved in the growth of the sportIs a service-minded, self-starter who is highly motivated and possesses characteristics of energy, enthusiasm, assertiveness, drive, and a sense of funMust possess outstanding interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills, including enjoying interacting with guests and creating a welcoming environment for skatersAble to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals with varied personalities and at different levelsAble to maintain accurate recordsAble to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and early mornings/eveningsAble to communicate The Rinks vision and commitment to quality service, products, and entertainmentKnowledge, Skills, and ExperienceEducation - High School Diploma or EquivalentCertifications Required - Learn to Skate Membership or US Figure Skating Coach ComplianceExperience Required - 0-1 YearThis position is on-site.
