Job Title: Leave Management SpecialistLocation: Boston, MA (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)Job Type: Contract (6+ Months)Job OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Leave Management Specialist to manage and administer all aspects of employee leaves of absence. This role is responsible for end-to-end case management, ensuring compliance with company policies and federal/state regulations, while delivering excellent support to employees and managers throughout the leave process.This is a hybrid position requiring initial onsite training (first 3–4 days), followed by 2 days onsite per week.Key ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end leave of absence cases for assigned employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and complianceAdminister leaves in accordance with FMLA, ADA, and applicable state regulationsProvide clear guidance to employees and managers regarding leave policies, pay, and benefitsCoordinate with HR Business Partners, Payroll, Legal, and Benefits teams to ensure seamless leave processingMaintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal SLAs and regulatory requirementsServe as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to leave and benefits during leaveWork with external vendors as needed for disability or leave administrationSupport employees with return-to-work processes, including accommodations where applicableHandle sensitive and confidential information with discretionAssist with process improvements and system enhancements related to absence managementStay updated on federal and state leave laws and best practicesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceMinimum 2+ years of experience in leave management / absence managementHands-on experience with FMLA (including multi-state)Strong case management experience handling multiple leave casesWorking knowledge of ADA, short-term and long-term disability programsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detail, organization, and confidentialityPreferred QualificationsExperience working in higher education, healthcare, or large organizationsFamiliarity with Workday or other HRIS systemsExperience supporting process improvement initiatives
