This role will perform system documentation, metadata validation, and data owner coordination to build comprehensive baseline inventory of enterprise data systems.Key Responsibilities Execute system documentation for legacy and archival data systemsPerform standard system crawling and metadata capture activitiesValidate metadata accuracy and completeness against established quality standardsCoordinate with Data Owners and Stewards to gather and verify metadata attributesDocument data lineage, business definitions, and technical specificationsMaintain metadata records in interim repository systemsSupport SME validation sessions by preparing materials and capturing outputsPerform data quality assessments using established rule frameworksSupport final validation activities and enterprise catalog ingest preparationContribute to usability testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) sessionsMaintain compliance with documentation standards and processesRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related fieldMinimum 3 years of experience in data analysis, data governance, or metadata managementProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and SharePointExperience documenting data systems, databases, or data catalogsStrong attention to detail and quality-focused mindsetAbility to work independently under senior-level supervisionExcellent written communication skills for technical documentationAbility to obtain Public Trust clearancePreferred Qualifications Experience with data catalog platforms (Collibra, Alation, or similar)Knowledge of SQL for data exploration and validationFederal government or DoD contractor experienceFamiliarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR)Experience with Power BI or similar visualization toolsUnderstanding of metadata standards (DCAT, Dublin Core)#LIREMOTEHere at rockITdata, we are committed to following our 10 Guiding Principles.Our Guiding Principles define our culture.
