Position Summary:
This role involves leading development efforts with a focus on Python and AI technologies to enhance development velocity. The position supports strategic initiatives to expand the development team and leverage cloud-based solutions.
Job Must Haves:
- Hands-on Python experience
- Agentic AI experience
- Ability to independently own architecture and development
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Job Nice to Haves:
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude)
- Familiarity with Vue.js or React

Background:
Development team has grown from roughly 50 to 150, with a goal of 200. Recent internal reorganization moved the team under IT, resulting in leadership changes and developer turnover.
Technical Stack: Python (primary), Vue.js preferred (React acceptable), APIs/microservices, AWS/GCP. Historically AWS, but all new development is on GCP.AI Expectations: Heavy emphasis on leveraging AI to increase development velocity. AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude) are a minimum expectation, along with hands-on agentic AI experience and building agents.
Leadership: Must remain hands-on while owning architecture decisions, mentoring developers, and delivering solutions independently.

- Team Structure: Lead Developers are expected to own development work, not just oversee it. Typical team includes 3 developers, a Data Scientist, and Scrum Master. Projects are organized around quarterly deliverables.
