To learn more about the Colas USA Family of Companies, please visit www.colasusa.com.MissionMaintains and repairs equipment, vehicles, and/or facilities used for carrying out the operations.Main ResponsibilitiesThe Shop Apprentice supports the maintenance and repair of company-owned tools, vehicles, and equipment under the direction and guidance of an experienced Shop Foreman or Journeyman Mechanic. This is a hands-on learning position designed for individuals interested in building a career in the trades, mechanics, or heavy equipment. This role provides training, mentorship, and progressive responsibility as skills develop. This position may require travel to remote sites as needed while supporting other Southeast Road Builders projects.Apprentice Responsibilities(assigned and under the direction of the Shop Foreman or Journeyman Mechanic)Assist with basic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of company-owned equipmentPerform routine maintenance tasks on small tools, vehicles, and heavy equipmentLearn proper use of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipmentAssist with completing repair and maintenance recordsHelp organize and maintain shop facilities in compliance with safety and Colas 6S standardsSupport parts receiving, inventory, and supply organizationFollow all safety policies and procedures while working in the shop or fieldReceive ongoing training, mentoring, and performance reviewsTake on increased responsibilities as skills and experience growPerform other duties as assignedProfileMust be 18 years of ageMust have a high school diploma or GEDInterest in mechanics, welding, heavy equipment, or skilled trades requiredRelevant coursework or hands-on experience may include (but is not required):WeldingAutomotive or Diesel TechnologySmall EnginesMetal FabricationConstruction or Industrial TradesShop ClassesColas Inc.
