Operations Supervisor (Houston)
CMK Resources has partnered with a fast-growing international logistics company that is building a high-performing operations team in Houston — and we're looking for an Operations Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.This role is responsible for overseeing dispatch, coordinating freight movements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting pricing and customer service initiatives.This is an emerging leadership role designed for an experienced logistics professional who has begun supervising others and is ready to grow into a full management position through mentorship, development, and increased responsibility.What you'll do:Supervise daily dispatch, routing, and load execution for domestic trucking operations, including heavy haul and specialized freightCoordinate international shipments, including imports/exports, documentation, and communication with carriers, brokers, and partnersEnsure efficient load planning, driver utilization, and on-time pickup/delivery performanceMonitor and manage operational KPIs (on time %, dwell time, utilization, cost per load) and drive continuous improvement initiativesTroubleshoot service failures and resolve issues in real time to maintain customer satisfactionEnsure adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and Hours of Service (HOS) regulationsPromote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standardsSupport incident investigations and corrective action planningLead, coach, and support a team of dispatchers and logistics coordinatorsAssist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new team membersMonitor performance, provide feedback, and support employee developmentServe as a working supervisor, stepping into operational roles as neededMaintain strong communication with customers to ensure service expectations are met or exceededSupport pricing and quoting activities, including rate development and margin awarenessUnderstand the relationship between operational decisions and profitabilityCollaborate cross-functionally to improve service delivery and operational efficiencyUtilize and optimize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) for dispatch, tracking, and reportingEnsure accurate and timely documentation and data entry across systemsSupport development and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automation, and reportingWhat we're looking for:Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or related field preferred.
