TITLE: Child Nutrition Program (CNP) WorkerREPORTS TO: CNP Manager, CNP Director, and PrincipalFLSA STATUS: Non-ExemptTERMS: 187 DaysEVALUATION: State and/or Local Evaluation ProtocolJOB GOAL:* To prepare meals for students and staff that are nutritious, tasty, and attractive, in a clean and safe environment for a quality educational program.QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma orExperience in food service operations or relatedConsiderable knowledge of safety, sanitation, food preparation, and equipment in quantity food productionHave or obtain food protection manager training and certification (ServSafe).A minimum of 13 Professional Development hours must be obtainedEffective interpersonal communicationPunctuality and regular attendancePERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILIES:Be familiar with local, state, and federal regulations regarding food safety and USDA meal pattern requirements.Provide cordial and professional service while working cooperatively with administrators, co-workers, teachers, staff, parents, students, andOperate food service equipment; clean and sanitize equipment according to HACCP regulations.Serve meals by reviewing and following recipes; assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients; and maintaining a sanitary kitchen.Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintain temperatures and HACCP logs as required; and maintain appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all foodFollow standards of institutional food preparation, portion control, and servingServe in rotation in preparing meats, vegetables, bread, salads, and/orServe in rotation in preparing and supplying the servingEnsure high-quality food preparation and serving standards.Assist and maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchenEnsure the proper storage of food and supplies.Assist in taking accurate inventory of food, supplies, smallwares, and equipment.Notify the manager or assistant manager when food and supplies need to be replenished.Maintain confidentiality of work-related issues, records, and school-related information.Participate in staff development programs and attend other meetings as required.Perform any other duties as assigned.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:* This position may require some bending, stooping, standing for multiple hours at a time, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and other repetitive motions.
