Staff Accountant

ResponsibilitiesKforce has a client in Sarasota, FL that is seeking a Staff Accountant. We're seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant who enjoys day-to-day transactional accounting and maintaining clean, accurate records. Reporting to the Controller, you'll handle the essential accounting work that keeps our books balanced and our operations efficient. Responsibilities: Process daily accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) transactions Post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and maintain schedules Prepare and reconcile bank statements and credit-card accounts Support month-end and year-end close processes Assist with payroll entries and maintain supporting documentation Track fixed assets and assist with depreciation schedules Maintain organized digital accounting files and documentation Provide accurate, timely information to the Controller for reporting and analysisRequirements Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience (distribution, retail, or manufacturing preferred) Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (required) Solid understanding of GAAP and monthly close processes Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Positive attitude and a team-first mindsetThe pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
