Summary of Duties As an employee working within the Child Welfare Program , you will have an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oregon’s most vulnerable children and families. As a Case Aid, you will: Community Engagement: Engage with community partners, caseworkers, children, and families. Your role involves supporting relationship-building between these parties. Assessments and Case Planning: Contribute to and support the development of various assessments and case planning efforts. Child Advocacy: Assist parents in identifying and articulating their children’s needs. Additionally, support caseworkers by handling case-related activities such as paperwork, information gathering, referrals, and communication with community partners. Minimum Qualifications One year experience assisting professionals in one or more specialized social programs such as family services, children services, senior services, mental or developmental disability services, substance abuse programs, juvenile corrections programs, or occupational skills programs; or Possession of a current certification in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Addiction Counseling Preparation, or Juvenile Corrections; or 45 quarter hours, or 30 semester hours of college course work in sociology, psychology, early childhood education, criminal justice, human services, juvenile corrections, or occupational skills training; or An associate degree in a field not closely related to Social Work/Human Services and six months of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, mental or physical disabilities, juvenile prevention, health, cultural competencies, and/or inadequate housing). Essential Attributes We are looking for candidates with: Experience using time management, organization, and prioritization skills to meet deadlines. Experience using computer skills for word processing and navigating different databases. Experience conducting work that requires attention to detail. Experience using a trauma-informed lens to evaluate situations. Attention all candidates! Working Conditions Your work will be conducted in offices, participant's homes, and other community sites. This position requires working a flexible schedule as a condition of employment with a normal workday of 8 hours, from 8 AM to 5 PM; however, working hours may be adjusted within a given week, to provide planned services. Occasional, compensated overtime may be required, including evening and weekend work. Occasional travel is required for attending meetings, trainings, and other case related activities. Some travel may be in hazardous weather conditions. This position requires occasional overnight travel. You may interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma and may exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
