Facilities Mechanic - Grounds - Maryland

Overview: Why We Need Your Talents: Facilities mechanics are responsible for keeping the grounds maintained with a clean, neat, and orderly appearance. Grounds to include parking structure/lots/garage, valet drop off/pickup and all other outside areas within the scope, control and responsibility of Live! Casino & Hotel. Responsibilities: Where You'll Make an Impact: Responsible for cutting, weeding, and edging the grass, raking the leaves, and sweeping the parking lots, and garage. Responsible for planting, removing, and relocating plants, flowers, trees, and bushes. Removing all trash and debris from parking lot areas and grounds. Emptying trash containers. Operate and maintain equipment such as trucks, utility vehicles, pavement sweepers and scrubbers, pressure washers, litter vacuums, etc. Responsible for ensuring all signs, posts, and chain fences are straight and secure. Responsible to ensure all outside areas are clean, orderly, safe, and are at the highest level of maintenance at all times. Must be available for weather events such as snow removal or other storms. May be called upon and assigned from time to time to assist with internal logistics and maintenance. Other duties as assigned. Skills to Help You Succeed: Ability to: Read, write, and understand simple instructions. Use all necessary tools and equipment to perform maintenance functions. Answer all calls promptly and maintain politeness. Pay attention to the needs of guests and team members at all times. Knowledge of OSHA required standards and safety requirements. Knowledge of personal protective equipment. Problem-solving. Detail-oriented. Efficient and organized. Communication and customer service skills. High aptitude for learning. Qualifications: Must-Haves: A high school diploma or GED equivalent. Zero (0) to two (2) years’ experience with grounds keeping and or outdoor maintenance of a commercial property/facility. Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license as determined by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency. Physical Requirements: Lift and or push up to 80 lbs. Standing for up to 4 hours at a time. Work in small, confined areas. Frequent bending at the waist.
