HealthTrust Workforce Solutions HCA is seeking a local contract nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a local contract nursing job in Denver, Colorado.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: PCU - Progressive Care UnitDiscipline: RNStart Date: 05/26/2026Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, daysEmployment Type: Local ContractTell us about the unit(s):Number of Beds – 34 (department is physically split between 2 floors, 5th and 6th)Number of Staff – ~45Type of staff: **Depends on patient census**Day Shift – Charge RN without patient assignment; staff nurses; PCTsNight Shift – same as above- no changes in ratiosPatient Ratios – 1:3-4 (We occasionally flex to 1:5 if we have Med/Surg overflow)Type of equipment – bladder scanner on each floor, Mobilabs for lab specimen labeling in each room, EKG machine, AccuVein, Virtual Sitter Cameras, W.O.Ws, Hoyer Lift, Sara Steady Lift, Sit to Stand Lift, Cortrak Machine to place Dobhoff tubes (core staff have competency), Ultrasound Guided PIV MachineEMR - MeditechTypical hiring profileSkill Set Most recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs)Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.Minimum 1-year acute care hospital Stepdown/PCU ExperienceBLS & ACLSPreferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.Experience with Solid Organ Transplant (kidney, liver or pancreas).
