Lead Medical Coordinator - Bilingual (English and Spanish)

Together, we’re united in our Christian mission and these shared values: We’re motivated by our faith, we support one another, we champion justice, we pursue excellence, and we’re in it for the long haul.  As a Lead Medical Coordinator, you’ll help carry this mission forward and make a meaningful impact every day.How Your Role Makes a DifferenceSupervise other Medical Coordinators and provide staff training on medical, dental, and public health topics related to pediatric, adolescent care, and migrant healthDevelop and maintain policies and procedures for confidential health record management, triage of health concerns, medical emergency response, environmental health and safety, and post-release care coordinationSchedule and transport youth to all medical appointments within required timeframesMaintain and manage medical files in the UC Portal and ensure records are updatedFormulate treatment authorization requests to Point Comfort Underwriters for unaccompanied refugee clientsServe as subject matter expert on Point Comfort Underwriters insurance through ongoing consultation and collaborationProvide discharge resources and reportsEnsure documentation and filing compliance with all required forms in accordance with agency, state licensing, and ORR requirementsReconcile and address billing errors to ensure accurate billing and prevent lossMay participate in on-call support for shelter care staff to address after-hours medical issues as neededStay current on all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social servicesTravel periodically to healthcare facilities to build relationships and transport clientsEssential job responsibilities may vary based on program or department needsMay be required or asked to participate in a Bethany-sponsored eventComplete other duties as assignedWhat Will Make You SuccessfulMinimum of one (1) year of employment in a public health or healthcare setting with experience in care coordination, health administration, or direct clinical careLicensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a bachelor’s degree, or higher health-related qualification (e.g., Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner)Bilingual Spanish/English fluency preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to provide excellent and compassionate customer serviceAbility to work independently and maintain a high level of confidentialityReliable with ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines and tasksAbility to work well under pressure and adapt to changeMust be able to pass required medical examinations and perform essential job functions, including physical restraints of a residentSuccessfully pass an annual TB test and document preference to receive or decline Hepatitis immunizationComputer skills sufficient to perform essential functions, including knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteMust be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and at least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of BethanyMust pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverageMust pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registriesSubscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to UnityWe Invest in YouExperience a team environment with other professionals who are motivated by faith, support one another, pursue excellence, and are in it for the long haulAccess to training, professional development, and career growth opportunities Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, and vision)403(b) retirement plan with employer match eligibilityGenerous time off (11 paid holidays, PTO YourWay, paid parental leave, separate sick and paid absence banks) Access to education reimbursement for those that qualifyComprehensive employee assistance and wellness program Employer paid long-term disability and group term life insurance
