Furniture Repair TechnicianThe Furniture Repair Technician is integral to the customer experience and the operations of the warehouse. Duties include evaluating damaged merchandise and daily repairs of stock items, damaged product, and customer owned goods.The Repair Tech will also need to be adept at using a variety of hand and electrical tools as well as various paints, dyes, and chemicals. Experience in furniture repair, furniture assembly, upholstery, or other related training will be beneficial in this role. The right candidate will be committed to and exemplify the values of the organization, maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced retail/warehouse environment. Extreme attention to detail and quality of work is crucial in this role.Typical duties include but are not limited to:Reconstruct furniture, replace parts, and in some cases modify or rebuild missing parts.Inspects items according to instructions and reports damaged goods to supervisor.Comprehend all methods of repair for wood, upholstery, glass and assembly of RTA.Performs routine maintenance procedures as instructed.Maintain repair log and notify manager if item cannot be repaired.Maintain work area be sure all chemicals are labeled, place all dirty rags in proper containers, be familiar with hazard communication and MSDS.Commitments to AFW's safety policies and procedures. Promotes awareness and owns personal safety and the safety of others.Preferably has at least 4 months of furniture repair experienceExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Capability to operate equipment needed to do job.Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team and effectively communicate with all team members.Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.Organized and has attention to detail.Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment.Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment.Starting at $19/hour and up - Dependent on experiencePay Grade B: $16.00-29.71At AFW we offer great perks: weekly pay, benefits package (medical, dental, vision) 401k matching, and more!Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of timeAbility to perform repetitive tasks, manual dexterityVision abilities required include close, distance and depth perceptionRequires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours a day.Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 50-100lbsAble to work shifts that are 8-12 hours long.Ability to work 0 to 35 feet above the ground.Ability to walk long distance on hard surfacesAbility to work under fluorescent lightingAble to work in various weather conditions.
