We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment & Diesel Fleet Mechanic to keep our diverse fleet moving.If you want to work for a stable company where your name actually matters, you won't get bored here. You will work on everything from road tractors and tri-axles to heavy "yellow iron" (loaders, screeners, crushers) and manufacturing equipment. We offer steady, year-round work, plenty of overtime potential, and a Pension Plan to truly secure your future.What You Will Be DoingYou will be the hands-on expert keeping our heavy machinery and transport fleet out of the shop and in the dirt where they belong:Advanced Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair complex diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical issues across our diverse fleet of trucks and heavy equipment.Heavy Systems Overhaul: Skillfully repair and replace air brake systems, transmissions, clutches, suspensions, and exhaust systems.Preventative Maintenance: Perform thorough DOT inspections and routine fleet service to catch mechanical problems long before they cause costly downtime.Shop Operations: Maintain a clean, highly organized, and safe work environment while accurately documenting all your repairs.Team Collaboration: Work directly with our operations team to prioritize which machines need to get back on the job site first.What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)Experience: 2+ years of proven diesel mechanic experience. (Experience working specifically with heavy construction equipment and advanced hydraulics is a major plus!)Technical Knowledge: A strong, comprehensive understanding of diesel engines, electrical diagnostics, and air brake systems.Diagnostic Skills: The proven ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues efficiently and accurately. (Welding and Fabrication skills are highly preferred, but not strictly required).Licensure: A valid Driver's License is required. (Holding a CDL Class A or B is a huge bonus!)Mindset: You are highly reliable, strictly safety-focused, and more than willing to get your hands dirty in both the shop and the yard.Compensation & Premium BenefitsVery few companies still offer this level of long-term security.
