Production Sr Technician (Conversion)

Job TitleSets up and operates automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operationMonitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specificationsReports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipmentPerforms all work in accordance with established safety proceduresImpact of the RoleGeneral ProfileRequires working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical scientific or operational processesApplies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertiseWorks within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methodsWorks with a moderate degree of supervisionPerforms manual tasks according to established proceduresEssential FunctionsSets up and operates production equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble various commercial products and substances.Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce products.Monitors output for quality and conformance to required metrics.Prepares and maintains required records of production activities and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues.Follows established guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear.Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed to improve efficiency.Establishes a standard production rate in performance of maintenance, production, clerical, and other worker operations.Troubleshoots issues related to manufacturing operations and industrial layout.Required QualificationsRequired education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or ExperiencePreferred QualificationsPreferred education and experience: Associate's DegreeDiscipline/Major: Technical training preferredKnowledge, skills & abilities: Technical expertise. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).Physical RequirementsRequires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.May need to stand for long periods of time.Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.May be requested to work a different shift.Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.This position is Safety-Sensitive.Travel RequirementsNo or very little travel likely.
