Electrical Assembler - Cable & Wire Harness

Our client, a precision electronics manufacturer in Easthampton, MA, is hiring two Electrical Assemblers to build the cables, wire harnesses, test fixtures and sub-assemblies their equipment runs on. You will work from engineering documentation, assembly drawings and work instructions, alongside experienced technicians and a team lead. On-the-job training is provided. This is bench and floor work in a manufacturing environment, not a desk job. Expect to be on your feet for a meaningful part of the day, lifting up to 50 lbs, and moving between harness build, cabling components into a test rack, and setting up test equipment as priorities change. If you want to be handed one task and left alone with it for a month, this is not that seat. You do not need to arrive IPC-A-620 certified, but you do need to have built harnesses and cable assemblies before, and be able to read an engineering drawing without someone walking you through it. Work is built to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 2 standards. This role is subject to ITAR. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident (green card holder). PAY AND SCHEDULE $25.00 per hour. Three-month contract, mid-September through mid-December 2026. Two openings, 100% on site in Easthampton, MA. WHAT YOU WILL DO Build cable assemblies and wire harnesses to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 2 standards Connect component wires to circuits and route wiring between individual component leads Work from circuit diagrams, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams and written or verbal work instructions Assemble test fixtures, and install and cable components within a test rack Set up and use a variety of test equipment to verify completed assemblies Support printed circuit board (PCB) assembly work as needed Maintain inventory, organization and upkeep of company tools and job materials Keep a clean, safe and organized work area WHAT YOU NEED Hands-on experience building wire harnesses and cable assemblies Able to read and work from engineering drawings and assembly documentation Comfortable with soldering, crimping and hand tools at the bench Detail oriented and organized Strong verbal communication skills Mechanical aptitude Able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for portions of the shift U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (ITAR requirement) NICE TO HAVE IPC-A-620 certification Experience assembling printed circuit boards (PCBs) Prior work in a regulated manufacturing environment such as aerospace, defense or medical device Experience building or cabling test racks, test fixtures or test equipment We are moving quickly on this one.
