Python Developer / Lead Data Engineer - New YorkA well established trading firm is actively looking for a lead data engineer to play a pivotal part in their growing systematic team.Based in New York, the business has been around for over 3 decades and is now managing over $10bn in assets.You'd be joining their dedicated quant team at the early stages of it's growth - working alongside the team lead. You will be responsible for implementing new alphas into production on a daily basis and developing/managing a next generation data platform, which includes data pipelines and data access APIs.The right candidate will have OOP Python, PySpark and Pandas and will have worked in a systematic trading environment previously. Experience developing machine learning models and strong statistical knowledge is also beneficial.You need a minimum of 5 years worth of experience working within a systematic trading firm - working on data pipelines. Additionally, you need to have had exposure to equity trading strategies - this is an essential requirement.The firm are willing to pay a highly competitive compensation package to attract the best in the space - with this being a priority hire for the business (comp range shared upon initial call).ResponsibilitiesAnalysing and cleaning large datasets - both alternative and fundamentalBuilding, managing and maintaining the groups data platformHelping productionise systematic strategiesRequirementsMinimum of 5 years worth of experience working in a systematic trading environmentStrong statistical knowledge and modeling skillsStrong coder - particularly in python and Pyspark (essential)Experience cleaning and analysing vast datasetsExposure to equity trading strategies
