About the Role This company designs and engineers In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) solutions. Their products cover media distribution, playback, and networking in an on-wing environment, and are utilized by many of the world's premier air carriers. Onsite Contract-to-Hire This role has potential to convert to a full-time hire after 6 months, based on performance Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering 8+ years of experience in mechanical design and integration of electronics, mechanical assemblies, and user interfaces, including PCBAs, switches, sensors, buttons, screens, power supplies, wiring, and cable management Experience designing LRUs to meet FAA certification requirements such as DO-160 Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM Experience creating drawings with GD&T (dimensions and tolerances) per ASME Y14.5 Proficiency in thermal management techniques Experience designing injection-molded, sheet metal, die-cast, machined, stamped, and die-cut parts Experience with technical ownership of mechanical designs, including system assembly throughout the design, development, production, and support phases Responsibilities Lead product development activities ranging from conceptual development, prototyping, and design validation through to manufacturing Integrate electronics, mechanical assemblies, and user interfaces, including PCBAs, switches, sensors, buttons, screens, power supplies, wiring, and cable management Develop handheld user interfaces, systems, and components Perform root-cause analysis of issues detected during development, engineering testing, and qualification Design assembly fixtures
