Reading Intervention Specialist, Unbound Academy - $60,000/year USD
You recognize the shift. The instant a learner stops guessing at words and begins reading with purpose. They glance up and tell you, “I can do this.” If that’s the impact you seek daily, this is where you belong.
Unbound is a remote‑first online school designed for measurable progress, not compliance with seat time. We’re restructuring student learning so they advance more quickly, engage deeply in the process, and graduate with demonstrable confidence.
Most of your time will be spent conducting high‑impact intervention sessions. The remainder involves leading brief motivational check‑ins that maintain momentum and goal achievement. This position fits professionals who value independence, rapid feedback cycles, and visible results. It does not suit those seeking rigid scripts or avoiding data‑driven work.
If you’re ready to help struggling readers achieve substantial progress—and you value the flexibility to customize your methods for each learner—we want to speak with you.
What You Will Be Doing
Plan and execute virtual small‑group and individual reading intervention sessions for grades 3–8 students
Apply reading assessment data to identify fluency and comprehension deficits and modify instruction rapidly
Adapt interventions across varied reading levels, providing targeted support for dyslexia and associated reading challenges
Monitor student progress systematically and use findings to inform subsequent session planning
Facilitate structured motivational check‑ins that cultivate confidence, persistence, and ownership of growth
What You Won’t Be Doing
Deliver large, whole‑class instruction or present from a standardized curriculum
Implement a predetermined scripted program without adjusting for student response and immediate feedback
Serve as a passive technology monitor lacking meaningful instructional engagement
Depend on superficial incentives that fail to foster enduring motivation
Reading Intervention Specialist Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of student outcomes for grades 3–8—quantifiable improvements in fluency and comprehension—through personalized virtual interventions and motivational strategies that strengthen confidence.
