Duties DescriptionCentral New York Psychiatric Center (CNYPC) is recruiting for a Psychiatrist 1 or Psychiatrist 2 at the Mohawk Correction Facility to provide a full range of care and treatment to individuals incarcerated in the State and County Correctional System. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.As a Psychiatrist at CNYPC, you will be part of a diverse interdisciplinary team focused on providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and evidence based treatment including: Performing psychiatric screenings, evaluations, and examinations. Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and procedures, diagnosing, and treating various psychiatric conditions. Administering psychiatric treatments, medications, and therapies. Conducting follow-up exams and modifying treatments as needed. Collaborating with other licensed physicians and healthcare providers on diagnoses and treatment plans, and approves treatment recommendations. Competency restoration. Correctional mental health services. If you are appointed and subsequently listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of these lists (or excluded from any other Federal or federally assisted program), you may be terminated from your employment. If appointed you may be required to become an enrolled Medicare provider; obtain and provide to your employer a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number issued by the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES); and otherwise actively participate to the degree necessary to allow for your services to be billed through Medicare and Medicaid. If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment. Continued employment as a Psychiatrist 1 or Psychiatrist 2 is dependent upon current licensure to practice medicine and in the case of Psychiatrist 1 or Psychiatrist 2, current certification in child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Loss of licensure and certification may result in removal from this position.
