Crew Leader - Mill Production (5 Points, CA)

SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for performing production related activities, supporting seed conditioning; Receiving, Warehousing, and Packaging of premium quality, proprietary forage seeds. This is an intermediate operations position, reporting to the Warehouse, Inventory Supervisor, utilizing experience and knowledge of the operation to assist as first line observation for compliance and provide operational guidance to less experienced staff. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: · SAFETY CULTURE o Cultivate a Barkley Seed safety culture as fundamental to all individuals on site, o Certify Lift Drivers and ensure continued compliance including inspections and retraining as needed. o Perform scheduled monthly inspections: Fire Extinquishers, Eye Wash Stations, and other related o Lead facility safety audit with 1 additional and different staff member, monthly. Conclusions provided to supervisor · COACHING o Guide less-experienced staff in all system operations and operational protocols as advise by superviosr o First line observation and guidance in the areas of: Loading/Unloading trucks, Conditioning, Sampling, Blending and packaging o Assist in scheduled Safety and Operational training activities · SHIPPING/RECEIVING o Ensure lot integrity is maintained throughout all movements of seed o Prestage and verify outgoing material complies with corporate and state and federal guidelines · SANITATION & MAINTENANCE o First line guidance to ensure facility sanitation is maintained at all times to a industry leader expectation o Perform equipment inspections and operational adjustments including fluid levels and filter maintenance o Assist in seasonal preparations including light maintenance under the guidance of supervisor · ADDITIONAL · Accurately follow instructions from supervisors and management. · Observe all local and state industry regulations including federal and state safety authorities OSHA, CAL-OSHA · Adhere to all company rules and policies as laid out by employee orientation and handbook. · Work as a team to maximize productivity and efficiencies. · Exhibit an admirable work ethic. · Demonstrate knowledge of organizations diverse products · Utilize hand tools, power tools, hoists, and related equipment as required to perform light operational related maintenance · Maintain a safe and clean work environment and equipment. · Safely and efficiently handle, lift, mix, bag and load and move various raw materials · Receive/Stow product. · Follow organizational packaging practices. · Pick/Pack/Wrap orders. Place product of bags (up to 50 lbs) on pallets to prepare for storage/shipping. · Support and assist in inventory tracking. · Willing to be crossed-trained or attend specific and related training · Versatile to assist in other areas as needed.
