Database Engineer
Job Description
Duties May Include:Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure database solutions to support mission-critical applicationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams during all phases of implementation including requirements, analysis, design, build/configuration, and deploymentConfigure and maintain database environments, including backup, restore, high-availability, and disaster recovery strategiesMonitor and tune database performance using industry-standard tools and methodologies (query optimization, indexing strategies)Implement data security measures, access controls, and compliance standards across environmentsAutomate routine database loading, maintenance, and monitoring tasks to improve efficiencyProvide technical guidance and best practices for database design, migration, and integration projectsRequirementsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, GIS, or related STEM field5+ years of hands-on experience in database design, administration, and optimization for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP HANAFamiliarity with database design principles, data loading techniques, backup and recovery solutions, performance monitoring and tuning, and securityScripting skills in SQL and Python for automation and data workflowsKnowledge of Linux, UNIX, and/or Windows environmentsExposure to geospatial concepts such as spatial data types, coordinate systems, and spatial indexingAbility to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical peers and non-technical project managers or customersUS Citizenship requiredActive or current (within two years of active) Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibilityDesired Qualifications:Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabasesCompTIA Security+ certificationKnowledge of integrating GIS with other enterprise systemsOne or more industry-standard IT certifications (Esri, CompTIA, Microsoft, Amazon, PostgreSQL, or Oracle)BenefitsAt Trinity Global Consulting (TGC), we value our employees and provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:Medical, Dental & Vision Coverage – Coverage for eligible employees and family through CareFirst and VSP.Paid Time Off – PTO granted in accordance with contract requirements.Paid Holidays – 11 federal holidays observed annually.Disability & Life Insurance – Short-term/long-term disability, life insurance, and AD&D coverage included.401(k) Retirement Plan – Competitive plan managed through Ameritas.Professional Training – Formal training provided as required, with additional learning opportunities based on role.
