Job Description Key Tasks and Responsibilities:Safely operate truck to destination arriving on scheduleInspect truck for defects before and after trips and submit reports indicating truck conditions.Maintains driver log according to D.O.T. regulationsAssists in loading and unloading truck. Always secures loads to trailersVerifies contents of load with manifest before leavingInspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water and reports daily with inspection logsMaintain regular and predictable attendancePerforms all assignments as directedTo safely maneuver tractor & trailer on jobsiteTo conduct all operation of vehicle in a professional mannerTo operate vehicle in a courteous, efficient manner at all timesTo keep accurate and dependable vehicle documents (i.e. Insurance cards, cab cards, permits, registrations for trailers, etc.)Ability to identify minor maintenance issues that may occur on the road and manage repairs utilizing company resources within company policy for the sameTo adhere to appropriate safety procedures for securing of panels while unloading (i.e. safety chains, straps, etc.)Skills and Attributes:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimalsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral or diagram formAbility to deal with problems in a calm and rational mannerValid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)Ability to back into tight areas where pavement may not existAbility to qualify for a D.O.T.
