Senior Application Developer – Java/JEE, AWS ECS & Modern UIAbout the RoleWe're looking for an experienced Application Developer to build mission-critical web applications and integration components. You'll work across the full stack — strong backend engineering in Java/JEE and AWS ECS, paired with moderate front-end skills in Angular, React, or Vue — and play an active role throughout the entire agile product lifecycle, from user stories and technical design through development, deployment, and maintenance. This role also incorporates AI-assisted development (AI DLC) practices using modern AI code assist tools.What You'll DoContribute as a core squad member, designing and implementing products across the full development lifecycle — coding, testing, and documentationBuild critical Java/web applications and integration components, leveraging AI DLC methodology to accelerate deliveryPartner with the Product Owner and Scrum Master in an Agile/Scrum environment to improve delivery velocityWork cross-functionally to support squad needs as priorities shiftShare knowledge and best practices with the broader engineering communityWhat You'll Bring13+ years of full-stack Java/UX/JavaScript development experience, delivering mission-critical, fault-tolerant applications10+ years of hands-on Java/JEE, Web Services, and RESTful service development in fast-paced project environments3+ years of UX/JavaScript/HTML development experience with Vue, React, or similar frameworks2+ years of experience using AI code-assist tools (Claude LLMs) and AI DLC (AI Development Life Cycle) practicesExperience working in GitLab/GitHub-based DevOps environments, including pipeline builds, security analysis, and deployment to AWS ECSHands-on experience with AWS cloud services: ECS, ECR, S3, ALB, RDS, DMS, KMS, Secrets Manager, SSM, Config, CloudWatch, Lambda, SNS, SQS, IAM, and Route 53Strong object-oriented analysis and design skills, including requirements analysis, design patterns, and UMLDeep knowledge of API integration, client-side browser JavaScript, and UI designExperience incorporating non-functional requirements into code and designExperience with QA processes, including functional, non-functional, and parallel testingSolid Agile/Scrum project delivery experience with strong cross-functional collaboration skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks, conduct in-depth code reviews, and ensure adherence to security and architectural standardsWorking knowledge of Word, Excel, and general productivity toolsStrong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly absorb new information and complex topicsNice to have:Terraform scripting experience for independently provisioning cloud resources in lower environmentsPython development experienceQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experienceJava/JEE certification (required)UX/JavaScript certification (required)AWS Developer or Architect certification (preferred)
