A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Tele Job Details: • 12-hour orientation required • Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends • Work with adult and geriatric patient populations • Float to all other inpatient units as needed (agency pulled first) • Weekend coverage required with every other holiday schedule • Unable to guarantee specific scheduling requests such as block scheduling • Must have 2 years of nursing experience in specialty • Must be over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted) • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, Telemetry • Care for patients with chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, DM, COPD, pneumonia, HTN, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, syncope • Handle med-surg overflow patients including sepsis, CVA, and COVID cases • Perform pre/post cath lab procedures, PPM/AICD, ablations, vascular surgeries • Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and Heparin • Perform sheath removal at bedside • Manage telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs • Skills required: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, port accessing, blood product administration, central/peripheral/PICC line care, IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care • May be assigned to Emergency Team during emergency events with expectation to stay at facility • Louisiana compact license or Louisiana state license required upon submission • NURSYS report required within 4 weeks of submission • Must be separated from facility for 1 full year if previously employed as permanent staff Facility: This healthcare facility operates a 24-bed medical surgical telemetry unit with comprehensive cardiac and vascular services.
