A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Tele Job Details: • 8-week backfill assignment starting ASAP • Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends • Every other holiday coverage required • Weekend coverage required • 12 hours of orientation provided • Can be pulled to all other inpatient units (agency staff pulled first) • Unable to guarantee specific scheduling requests (ex: block scheduling) • Must participate in "Emergency Team" during facility emergencies with expectation to stay until event passes • Care for patients with chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, DM, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, hypertension, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, syncope • Handle med-surg overflow patients (GI bleed, sepsis, CVA, COVID) • Perform pre/post cath lab care, PPM/AICD procedures, ablations, post-op CABG, post-op thoracotomy, vascular surgeries • Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, heparin) • Perform sheath pulling at bedside • Work with telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, wound vacs • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS • Must have 2 years of experience in specialty • Louisiana Compact or LA license required upon submission • Must be over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted) • NURSYS reports required (within 4 weeks of submission) • Epic charting system experience preferred • Strict no call-in policy enforced Facility: This medical center operates a 24-bed Med Surg Telemetry unit with comprehensive cardiac and medical surgical services. The facility provides advanced cardiovascular care including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology procedures, and cardiac surgery support. The unit maintains a daily census of 24 patients and offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and radiology services.
