Apply via Dice today!Linux L3 EngineerIntroduction:An IT professional with 10+ years of experience and a mix of technical and process skills is needed to join our team as a Linux L3 Engineer. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and experience with RHEL 7/8/9 Linux Administration and troubleshooting. They will also have expertise in Satellite server administration, support, and troubleshooting, as well as Cluster server administration. Good knowledge of hardware servers, User and Performance Management, and Cron is also required.Responsibilities:Configure Kickstart servers and Identity ManagementManage Cluster servers and Satellite server administrationPerform hardware server maintenance and troubleshootingImplement User and Performance ManagementUtilize Shell scripting for automation tasksEnsure DR and recovery of OSTroubleshoot network issuesManage Logical Volume ManagerOversee OS patching and upgradesCreate and synchronize application repositories using Yum and RPMImplement security and password management softwareProvision bare metal installs and maintain systemsTroubleshoot server booting issuesAssist with SAN migrationUtilize monitoring tools such as BMC Patrol, SolarWind, Tivoli MonitoringPlan and prioritize work to meet project deadlinesCollaborate with other teams and communicate effectivelyRequirements:Required Skills: BMC Patrol, Bash, IBM Tivoli Monitoring, LVM, Linux Administration, Migration, Network Layer, Password Management, Performance Management, ProVisionPreferred Skills: RedHat Ansible/Chef/puppet configuration management tool, VMware and Virtualization, Shell scripting (bash/ksh, PERL, Python), DR and recovery of OS, Logical volume manager, OS patching and upgrade, Yum and RPM, security and password management software, SAN migration, monitoring tools
