The Emergency Room Nurse is a critical member of the healthcare team responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing acute medical emergencies. This role requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ER Nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.Compensation: $35.00hr - $45.00hrHours: PRNKey Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients in the emergency department, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations.Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs and best practices.Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians and according to hospital policies.Monitor and document patients' vital signs, changes in condition, and responses to treatment.Collaborate with physicians, emergency technicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide timely and effective care.Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and post-discharge care.Assist in managing multiple patients in a high-stress environment, prioritizing care based on the severity of conditions.Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) to ensure continuity of care.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital policies and protocols.Maintain knowledge of current trends and practices in emergency nursing through ongoing education and professional development.Qualifications:Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Illinois.Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).Previous experience in emergency nursing or a critical care setting preferred.Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving patients.Capacity to respond quickly to emergency situations and provide necessary interventions.Benefits: We pride ourselves in retaining our top talent by offering work environments that support professional development and personal success.
