Southern Maine Recovery is opening a new residential Substance Use center in Westbrook Maine. We specialize in treating substance use and co-occurring disorders. Our mission is to provide treatments and strategies that foster long-term recovery. We are dedicated to our mission and are looking for RSS to join our team!
Your Role
The purpose of the Recovery Support Specialist is to provide support to clients living in, transitioning to, and being admitted to the Program. The RSS position provides non-clinical, evidenced-based support services by performing tasks designed to assist clients in wellness and recovery to promote self-advocacy and assist the client in achieving and maintaining rehabilitative, sobriety, and recovery goals.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you will have:
ADCA, MHRT/C or experience working in the field
Experience and passion for working with clients struggling with substance use disorders
EMR/EHR proficiency and strong clinical documentation skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
Client Support
Demonstrates knowledge of chemical dependency and addictions, utilizing skills to meet client needs.
Provides clients with information about the stages of recovery.
Assists clients in determining steps for self-directed recovery.
performs mentoring, problem-solving, encouragement, and support.
Engages hard-to-reach clients, offering living proof of the transformative power of recovery.
Provides feedback on recovery progress to clients.
Community Programming
Organizes and leads individual and group social and recreational activities.
Supports healthy communication between clients and family members/support system during approved phone privileges.
Assists with the admission process on new client admissions and orientation procedures and schedules.
Treatment Plan Support
Supports clients' treatment plan through all phases of the company’s treatment process.
Supports clients in utilizing appropriate learned coping mechanisms during moments of crisis.
Facility Maintenance and Logistics
Monitors group room cleanliness after each activity.
Maintains clean, properly supplied, and efficient work areas.
Participates in shift turnover, ensuring continuity of care.
Transport clients as needed.
Experience:
Substance use experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Behavioral health: 1 year (Preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
