Azure Cloud Engineer- Local Only-US Citizens/GC Holders - Perm role

Cloud Engineer*US Citizens or GC Holders*Washington DC- hybridResponsibilities:Design, deploy, and maintain hybrid cloud infrastructure encompassing compute, storage, and global data center operations.Assess existing systems and provide recommendations for scalability, performance, and security improvements.Develop and refine policies and procedures to ensure high availability and operational excellence across all offices.Lead integration of cloud services into current and future infrastructure architectures.Apply best practices to maintain stability, reliability, and resilience post-implementation.Ensure compliance with IT policies, including change management, disaster recovery, and business continuity.Collaborate with Information Security and Compliance teams to meet ISO 27001 and other audit requirements.Work closely with infrastructure, networking, security, and applications teams to define and execute a global technology roadmap.Coordinate cross-functional efforts to deliver projects efficiently and effectively.Maintain comprehensive system documentation, including architecture diagrams, procedures, and configurations.Oversee the rollout of new infrastructure services and enhancements to existing environments.Stay current with emerging technologies and maintain relationships with vendors to evolve the firm’s infrastructure.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.Minimum 5 years of experience designing and implementing enterprise IT infrastructure (compute, storage, data centers).Experience supporting large, global, multi-office environments across multiple time zones.Proven expertise in hybrid cloud environments, including systems, networking, security, and software engineering.Experience in legal or professional services environments is a plus.Technical Expertise:Azure Hybrid Cloud: Azure VMware Solution (AVS), Azure Arc, Landing Zones, Azure Policy, Azure Monitor.Infrastructure as Code & Automation: Bicep and/or Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell or similar scripting.Virtualization & Core Infrastructure: VMware (vSphere, ESXi, NSX, vCenter, SRM), enterprise compute, storage, networking, Active Directory.Linux Systems Engineering: Enterprise Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE) administration, performance tuning, security, automation.Cloud Operations & Reliability: High-availability systems design, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, cost optimization using Azure-native tools.Security & Identity: IAM, Azure AD/Entra ID, RBAC, secure hybrid connectivity.Operational Intelligence: Monitoring, telemetry, troubleshooting, optimization; exposure to AI-assisted operational tools is a plus.Data Protection & Storage: Pure Storage, Nasuni, Veeam, or similar solutions.Networking: HPE, Brocade, and enterprise networking concepts.
