BA/BS Crisis Hotline Counselor - Shift 1 (122)

Job Purpose:* The BA/BS Crisis Hotline Counselor at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing immediate support and intervention to individuals experiencing emotional distress or crisis. The counselor will utilize their expertise to assess situations, offer appropriate guidance, and connect callers with necessary resources to ensure their safety and well-being.Key Responsibilities:Respond promptly and professionally to incoming crisis hotline calls during assigned shifts.Conduct thorough assessments of callers' emotional and mental states to determine the level of risk and appropriate intervention.Provide empathetic and non-judgmental support to individuals in crisis, employing active listening and effective communication techniques.Develop and implement crisis intervention strategies tailored to the needs of each caller.Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all interactions and interventions in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.Collaborate with other mental health professionals and agencies to coordinate care and resources for callers in need of additional support.Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay informed of best practices in crisis intervention and mental health care.Adhere to all ethical guidelines and confidentiality requirements to protect the privacy and rights of callers.Contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the crisis hotline team by actively participating in team meetings and providing feedback for continuous improvement.
