Architectural Designer / Design TechnicianOverviewWe are seeking a design-driven Architectural Designer or Design Technician to support the Design Director in a collaborative studio environment. This role focuses on design production, 3D modeling, and graphic communication across architectural and interior projects from concept through documentation. Ideal for junior candidates or emerging professionals with strong visual skills, attention to detail, and a desire to grow through mentorship.Key Responsibilities+ Support design development from concept through construction documentation+ Produce drawings, diagrams, and presentation materials that clearly convey design intent+ Develop 3D models using Rhino and SketchUp; assist with rendering workflows+ Prepare construction documents and existing conditions drawings using AutoCAD and Revit (BIM)+ Create layouts, title blocks, and graphics aligned with office standards+ Develop presentation materials, mood boards, and visual assets using Adobe Creative Suite+ Contribute to multi-family and affordable housing projects, including historic preservation work+ Assist with NYCHA and Hudson Valley projects, ensuring code and project compliance+ Maintain organized files and consistent graphic standards across all deliverables+ Collaborate with team members on documentation, coordination, and project workflows+ Explore AI and emerging tools to enhance design and production processesQualifications+ Bachelor's degree in Architecture (required)+ Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite+ Working knowledge of Revit/BIM (3+ years preferred)+ Strong graphic sensibility and attention to detail+ Understanding of construction documents and building codes+ Experience or interest in multi-family housing and/or historic preservation+ Familiarity with rendering tools (e.g., D5) and emerging design technologies+ Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills+ Portfolio showcasing design, modeling, and presentation work (required)Additional Experience (Preferred)+ Multi-family or affordable housing projects (NYCHA a plus)+ Hudson Valley or similar regional project experience+ Exposure to project coordination or management tasksWork Environment+ Based in Suffern, NY, our studio offers a modern, collaborative workspace with a relaxed, team-oriented culture.+ This is a full-time, in-office role with potential for a hybrid schedule.
