Day-to-day responsibilities include translating requirements into scalable workflows, user interfaces, and integrations, as well as configuring Appian objects, rules, and data models. The role involves collaborating closely with product owners, business analysts, and other developers to refine user stories, estimate effort, and deliver high-quality solutions on schedule. The Appian Developer will also troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, participate in code reviews, and contribute to best practices and documentation. This is a hybrid role based in Austin, TX, with a mix of onsite work and some work-from-home flexibility.Qualifications Strong experience designing and developing applications using the Appian platform, including process models, interfaces, rules, and data types.Proficiency with modern software development practices (SDLC, version control, testing, and deployment) and familiarity with integration technologies such as REST APIs and web services.Ability to gather and analyze business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.Solid problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and experience diagnosing and resolving application performance or configuration issues.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document solutions clearly and participate in peer reviews and knowledge sharing.Comfort working in a hybrid environment in Austin, TX, managing priorities independently while contributing to an inclusive and collaborative team culture.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; Appian certification is highly beneficial.Experience in enterprise or workflow automation projects, and familiarity with data modeling, relational databases, or BPM concepts is a plus.
