Power BI & Power Apps Specialist

Job Overview:Pranatree LLC is seeking an experienced Power BI & Power Apps Specialist with a strong focus on Power BI and a solid understanding of Power Apps. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing data-driven solutions using Power BI and Power Apps. This role will involve creating powerful business intelligence reports, dashboards, and custom apps to drive business decision-making, with a primary focus on Power BI.Key Responsibilities:Power BI Development (Primary Focus):Design and develop advanced Power BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to provide actionable insights.Collect, analyze, and model data from multiple sources to create comprehensive reports that inform business decisions.Develop DAX queries and functions for effective data modeling and report-building.Optimize Power BI dashboards with a focus on usability, performance, flexibility, and standardization.Implement row-level security on data and have an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI.Integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics such as Power BI service (SaaS), or by API automation.Power Apps Development (Secondary Focus):Build and maintain custom Power Apps solutions for internal business processes, automating workflows as needed.Collaborate with business users to understand their app development needs and provide recommendations.Ensure the seamless integration of Power Apps with Power BI, SharePoint, and other Microsoft 365 applications.Conduct regular testing, troubleshooting, and enhancements to improve the performance and functionality of apps.Collaboration & Support:Work closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, understand business needs, and create tailored solutions.Provide ongoing support and training to business users to ensure they are maximizing the use of Power BI reports and Power Apps.Stay updated on the latest Power BI and Power Apps features and improvements, and recommend upgrades as necessary.Required Qualifications:5+ years of experience working with Power BI and Power Apps.Strong proficiency in Power BI development, including:Data modeling, report creation, dashboard design, DAX query writing, and Power Query.Ability to integrate Power BI with other tools (like SharePoint, Teams, etc.).Experience with Power BI administration, including publishing reports, setting up workspaces, and security roles.Experience developing custom Power Apps and knowledge of integrating Power Apps with Power BI and other Microsoft services.Advanced skills in SQL, DAX, and data manipulation for efficient data transformation and presentation.Experience working with various data sources such as SQL Server, Excel, Azure, and other cloud services.Ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and streamline reporting processes.Preferred Qualifications:Microsoft certifications in Power BI and Power Apps.Knowledge of Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse Analytics.Familiarity with Power Automate for workflow automation.Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau or Qlik would be a plus.Background in data governance, data security, and compliance practices.
