Childcare Teacher
Childcare Classroom Teacher As the Childcare Classroom Teacher, you will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports young children's health, development, and early learning. This role involves supervising children, implementing age-appropriate curriculum, promoting social-emotional growth, and building positive relationships with families while maintaining a structured and supportive classroom. Key Focus Areas: Health & Safety Supervise children and maintain a safe environment Follow health, hygiene, and safety procedures Social-Emotional Support Guide behavior using positive strategies Support emotional growth and inclusion Curriculum & Learning Plan and lead learning activities Encourage language, play, and school readiness skills Classroom Routines Maintain daily schedules and smooth transitions Family Engagement Communicate with families and share updates Support parent involvement Professionalism Work as part of a team Attend trainings and follow policies Recordkeeping & Communication Keep accurate records Communicate clearly with staff and families Work hours: Monday - Friday 8 hours between 7:00am-5:00pm (part year August-May) The anticipated start date for this position is August 3, 2026. Reports to: Childcare Coordinator Supervises: Gives input to Childcare Coordinator on Assistant Teacher performance Minimum Requirement: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of experience working in early childhood. Preference CDA or higher in early childhood If hired with high school diploma, must obtain a CDA within two years of start Starting Salary dependent on education: High School Diploma/GED: $21.94 CDA: $24.13 Associate's Degree: $26.54 Bachelor's Degree: $29.20 Graduate Degree: $32.12 There is a 10-step wage scale built into this position that occurs annually. This is a non-exempt position with a 90-day introductory period.
