As the Specialist, Vehicle Information, you are the business go to specialist for the repurposing and financial accountability of all surplus assets. Surplus assets are vehicles that have been damaged or undeliverable resulting from acts of nature, mis-ordered, or stolen vehicles. There is a high level of accountability to maintain a documented surplus vehicle history. Responsibilities include negotiating an amicable vehicle sale or reproachment with dealers, clients, and manufacturers. The collection of funds, documentation, sales and repurposing are daily activities for the Surplus Vehicle Specialist.
A Day in the Life
Business coordinator and go-to source for all cancelled vehicle investigations
Repurposing and disbursement of Surplus vehicles
Financial collections and reconciliations of surplus vehicle funds
Fact finding, building vehicle financial portfolios, collection of documents
Damaged vehicle funds procurement (building profile)
Document coordination and execution between departments or clients
Negotiations with dealers on vehicle surplus vehicle rebills
Negotiations with clients/FPS on surplus vehicle sales
Coordinating vehicle moves
Financial collections from manufacturers on damaged vehicles
Financial collections from manufacturers on upfit damages
Paying vendors & reconcile unpaid funds
Administrative functions to all of the above
Storing data & records for business audits
Other Vehicle Resolution duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience
Automotive/Fleet Industry experience preferred
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) a must
Proven analytical and problem-solving experience/skillset a plus
Negotiation skills and experience a plus
