Explore Ascend, where your career soars without sacrificing your quality of life.The RoleWe're looking for a talented and motivated Tax Manager to join a fast-growing, innovative professional advisory firm working with closely held businesses in the automotive retail, construction, manufacturing, distribution, and other for-profit industries. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, entrepreneurial person with a team mentality and strong technical accounting and tax knowledge. You will be responsible for leading tax engagements and supervising a team of support staff. Our position provides a unique opportunity for significant growth within our firm, working directly with business owners and their financial professionals.ResponsibilitiesLead and support a strong portfolio of auto dealership clients, in addition to engagements across other industriesOccasional travel to auto dealership industry conferences across the U.S. - typically 3 per year in notable locations (such as Las Vegas, Napa, and Charleston)Provide initial and/or final review support for federal, state, and multi-state individual tax returns for corporate business owners and high net worth individualsBuild client relationships and serve as trusted advisor to effectively deliver superior client servicesIdentify opportunities for value-added services and potential cross-selling of other firm services to existing clientsExemplary leadership skills and the ability to mentor, train, and develop staff membersSupport partner team in practice development; including attending conferences, networking events, and training and speaking engagementsRequirements7+ years of experience preparing and reviewing corporate and individual income tax returnsActive CPA or EABachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related fieldProficient in project management including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and researchStrong attention to detailIntegrity within a professional environmentPreferencesExperience with CCH Axcess tax and Knowledge CoachFamiliarity with automotive retail industryLocationAt TSS, we've designed a flexible work structure that enables both teamwork and independence, enhancing our employees' work experience while promoting personal well-being.
