Senior Financial Accountant (Healthcare industry PREFERRED) - Charlotte, NC
The Senior Financial Accountant is a key member of the finance team responsible for advanced accounting functions, financial analysis, and assisting with process improvement initiatives. This position supports organizational growth by ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, and providing strategic insights to management. The Senior Financial Accountant will lead complex account reconciliations, assist with audit preparation, and mentor junior accounting staff. Essential Functions: Oversee and maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts with a high level of accuracyAssist with preparation of monthly financial statements, including lender and investor reportingPrepare and review journal entries, account analyses and ensure timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesProvide the 'why' analysis to leadership helping to understand the underlying story behind the movement in the monthly clinic and company financial statementsManage and reconcile complex balance sheet accounts including accounts receivable/revenue, prepaid expenses, prepaid rent, accrued payroll and other expensesMaintain and update fixed asset schedules, clinic buildout WIP ledgers, prepaid expense amortization schedules, capitalized software schedules, debt and lender schedules, and property taxesAssist the accounts payable function and adhere to company policies and internal controlsPrepare documentation for external audits and support the controller with responses to information requestsEnsure compliance with GAAPAdvanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including complex pivot tables and advanced formulas, with working knowledge of Power BIIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting functionAssisting other team members and clinic leaders, as needed with ad hoc projects and creating custom reportsAbility to work in-office with predictable, reliable, and prompt attendance and ability to concentrate, multi-task and work at a high pace while delivering results and meeting expectationsThe above listing is representative of the position. Big 4 or mid-tier firm experience is a plusPreferred accounting experience in retail, multi-site, or healthcare industriesPreferred experience with consolidation of multiple locationsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalAdvanced knowledge of GAAP and internal controlsProficiency in accounting system and ERP systems, NetSuite preferredStrong analytical, time management, and organizational skills
