We are dedicated to adding significant value through the data we provide for our clients and the communities we serve.The Surveying and Geomatics Business Unit is seeking a Survey Project Manager in Southern CaliforniaAs a Survey Project Manager, you will lead diverse land survey projects across Southern California, from boundary and topographic surveys to ALTA/NSPS surveys and construction support. You will be accountable for technical excellence, financial performance, and client satisfaction while providing clear direction to field and office teams. This role blends strong technical expertise with proactive leadership, mentorship, and collaboration across disciplines to deliver high-quality results that strengthen client relationships and grow the business.What You'll DoKey Responsibilities: Lead and review boundary analysis, mapping, and topographic survey calculations to ensure defensible, high-quality deliverablesOwn project financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, scope management, and change controlLead quality control of survey deliverables including plats, ALTA surveys, design mapping, and construction staking calculationsIdentify opportunities for additional services and support proposal efforts to grow existing client relationshipsPrepare proposals and collaborate with technical teams to define project approachLead, coach, mentor, and direct field and office staffCoordinate with DEA's Geomatics Group and Delivery Leaders to align staff and project needsEnsure adherence to DEA's firmwide processes for contracting, project accounting, and quality standardsAct as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring responsiveness and delivery excellenceProactively collaborate with engineers, planners, and other disciplines to support integrated project deliverySupport recruiting, onboarding, and career development of survey staffBe a client-facing, revenue-accountable, culture-driving leaderWhat You BringRequired Qualifications: Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) certification for PM I/CA PLS for PM II and higher8 or more years of experience in land surveyingwith 5 years of people leadership experienceExperience managing projects and mentoring survey staffStrong client communication skills and attention to detailExperience working with California mapping standards, Subdivision Map Act, and local agency requirementsPreferred Qualifications: Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in California for PM II or higherExperience with Trimble Business CenterProficiency in Civil 3D and experience reviewing engineering plansWhat We Offer We foster an environment where talented professionals have the freedom and support to do their most meaningful work.
