Position: Senior Manager - Transportation, Logistics, Fleet & Field LaborOpenings: 1Duration: PermanentSalary: 140-145k - w. 10% retention bonus for first 2 years (guaranteed bonus)Location: Greater Charlotte area- within 2 hoursWilling to come onsite when needed (VP request an in-person meeting with vendor)Schedule: Standard business hours (9–5, with potential flexibility based on operations)Role Level: Manager / Senior IC. Strong individual contributor role with no people management responsibilities.Manager Philosophy: Emphasis on output and results over strict onsite requirements.Must-Haves:10+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, fleet, and/or field services sourcing or operationsProven track record of cost optimization, service improvements, and operational efficiency gainsStrong experience negotiating complex service-based agreements (transportation, 3PL, fleet, labor)Expertise in cost modeling (cost-per-mile, TCO, productivity metrics, cost-to-serve)Experience leading supplier governance frameworks (KPIs, SLAs, QBRs)Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives (Supply Chain, Operations, Finance)Strong strategic sourcing and category management experiencePlusses:MBA or advanced degreeExperience with network optimization and routing strategiesBackground in fleet management (owned vs leased, maintenance, telematics)Experience with field labor models (contingent labor, managed service providers, installation crews)Familiarity with fuel markets, transportation rate structures, and logistics trendsLeadership experience managing teams of sourcing managers/analystsExposure to automation, innovation, and advanced logistics technologiesDay-to-Day:Develop and execute multi-year category strategies across transportation, 3PL, fleet, and field laborLead network optimization efforts (routing, cost-to-serve modeling, distribution efficiency)Run RFPs, bid events, and supplier consolidation initiativesNegotiate transportation rates, MSAs, fleet contracts, and labor SOWsAnalyze cost performance metrics (cost-per-mile, utilization, labor productivity) and build business casesPartner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance leaders to align strategy and executionOwn supplier relationships, leading performance reviews (QBRs) and continuous improvement initiativesMitigate supplier and operational risk (capacity constraints, financial stability, service disruptions)Drive implementation of sourcing strategies with minimal disruption to field operationsProvide executive-level reporting and insights on cost trends, service performance, and optimization opportunitiesJob Description:Insight Global is seeking a Senior Manager – Transportation, Logistics, Fleet & Field Labor/Professional Services for a leading distribution client.
