For 50 years, Outreach has changed the lives of thousands of individuals, children, youth, and families in DuPage County, IL, and we are seeking to hire a diverse staff of highly competent professional employees to pursue Outreach's mission to restore hope and provide opportunities for people to become all that God intends them to be.Outreach is hiring a Part-time Job Coach at Outreach Carol Stream to equip and empower high school students (age 14-18) to develop soft and hard job skills, gain hands-on work experience, explore career possibilities, identify employment interests and earn income during the summer break from school.ScheduleStaff Training – June 2 to June 4 (MANDATORY) Program Dates – June 8 to July 31 Program Schedule – Tuesday to Thursday, Tuesday (8:30AM-4:00PM) Wednesday (9:00AM-3:30PM) Thursday (9:30AM-5:00PM) and average of 20 hours/week. ResponsibilitiesThe Job Coach will build effective coaching relationships with 6-10 high school students by meeting with students 1-on-1, observing students at their worksite and gathering feedback from worksite supervisors, motivating students towards their best work performance, and providing accountability. The Job Coach will teach the weekly job class on a rotating basis using pre-selected curriculum and effectively collaborating with other job coaches and the high school program staff. The Job Coach will assist with transporting students to and from work when needed.RequirementsBachelor's Degree preferred. Experience with and sensitivity to the needs of students from low-income, high-risk families. Previous coaching or mentoring experience with high school students. Some presentation or teaching experience and the ability to develop an effective coaching relationship over a 9- week program. Clear verbal and written communication ability; professional and relational presence. The desire and ability to work within a team context. A valid, IL driver’s license, current auto insurance, reliable vehicle and good driving record. Bilingual (Spanish/ English) is a plus.
