We are seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and optimisation of automated manufacturing equipment and production systems for a leading global manufacturing client.📍 Location: Wilmington, NC (This position requires significant domestic and international travel)🕒 Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM📅 Duration: 6-7 Months (Potential Extension)Key Responsibilities:• Provide hands-on electrical engineering support for equipment installation, commissioning, startup, debugging, and optimization.• Lead and support electrical aspects of manufacturing equipment integration and automated production systems.• Troubleshoot PLCs, controls, instrumentation, power distribution systems, and automation equipment.• Collaborate with Mechanical, Process, Controls, IT, Maintenance, and Operations teams to support manufacturing projects.• Interface with OEMs, machine builders, contractors, and system integrators to ensure successful equipment deployment.• Review and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, installation checklists, machine specifications, and technical documentation.• Assist with PLC, HMI, SCADA, motion control, and industrial automation system implementation.• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering technicians, maintenance personnel, and contractors.• Support procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and automation components.• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA70, and corporate safety standards.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, production equipment, or capital project environments.• Strong hands-on experience with equipment installation, startup, commissioning, debugging, and troubleshooting.• Experience with industrial electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and power systems (480VAC and below).• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control documentation.• Experience with PLC-based automation systems, machine controls, analog/digital I/O, and industrial control systems.• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in manufacturing environments.• Excellent communication, teamwork, and project coordination skills.Preferred Qualifications:• PLC Programming (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Beckhoff, B&R, Siemens)• SCADA & HMI Development• Motion Control Systems• AutoCAD & AutoCAD Electrical• Industrial Networking & Automation Systems• PID Control Theory• Manufacturing Equipment Integration• Optical Fiber Manufacturing Experience• Project Management & Capital Projects Experience• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA70, OSHA Standards✈️ IMPORTANT TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:This position requires significant domestic and international travel.• Travel may range from several days to multiple weeks during project planning and initiation phases.• During deployment and startup activities, travel may become full-time.• Assignments may last 3-9 months and occasionally extend beyond one year.• Travel will be required to manufacturing facilities throughout North Carolina, including Concord, Winston-Salem, Hickory, Newton, and Wilmington.• International travel may be required to manufacturing sites in India, China, and Europe.If you are a hands-on Electrical Engineer who enjoys working directly with automated equipment, industrial controls, PLCs, and large-scale manufacturing projects, we'd love to hear from you.
