Position SummaryThe SBMP program is a vibrant undergraduate Torah studies program that runs from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm for students interested in a classic Talmud curriculum, coupled with the study of Jewish Law & Philosophy, and studying independently and under the guidance of friendly and engaging faculty.Position ResponsibilitiesThe role of an SBMP faculty member (“Rebbe”) begins at 9 am with a lecture, followed by overseeing paired study in the Beit Midrash with students from 10:20 am-11:35 am, followed by a Talmud lecture from 11:45 am-12:55 pmAbility to teach Talmudic subjects at an advanced level in a way that is also interesting and relevant to students, as well topic in Jewish Law & Philosophy and BibleSpend time mentoring students, and should be able to understand their specific challenges and situationsExpected to be available and reachable by students after teaching hours, and to coordinate shiur events and meetings with students one-on-oneAttend periodic faculty meetingsExperience & Educational BackgroundBachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferredRabbinic OrdinationExperience teaching young adultsSkills & CompetenciesProficient in preparing daily lectures on topics of halacha, gemara, tanach, and hashkafaCharismatic personality and able to connect well with othersExperience with counseling/mentoring of young adultsTeam player and able to collaborate with colleaguesSalary RangeINSTR: $55,000 - $100,000About UsYeshiva University is dedicated to academic excellence, intellectual exploration, and the advancement of timeless values that shape and impact lives.
