Alongside our UHNW advisory practice, we operate a dedicated mid-market tax and accounting practice serving companies with $50M–$500M in revenue — a natural and immediate source of commercial P&C clients for the right person.About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced commercial P&C leader to build and run NJA's commercial lines practice. This is a highly entrepreneurial opportunity — build something from the ground up, with a large client base already in place. You are embedded in a multidisciplinary firm with deep existing relationships across the businesses and assets of our UHNW client base. Your pipeline is seeded by NJA's tax, legal, and wealth teams, who are already engaged with these clients on ownership transition planning, restructurings, real estate transactions, and business succession.A decade of PE-driven consolidation has created large broker platforms where experienced producers operate on fixed grids with limited equity upside and increasing distance from the clients they built. If that describes where you are — and you are ready to own something instead — this role was built for you.What You'll DoLead NJA's commercial P&C practice as a strategic risk advisor to business owners, real estate operators, and family enterprises within our UHNW client baseFunction as an outsourced risk department for business-owner clients — advising on contract language, indemnification, coverage architecture, program design, benchmarking, and total cost of riskStructure and place comprehensive commercial programs — property, general liability, umbrella, professional liability, management liability, D&O, cyber, and specialty coveragesActively source new commercial clients through your own network and business development — NJA's existing book is your launch pad, not your ceilingCollaborate with NJA's tax, legal, and wealth teams to identify commercial insurance needs arising from ownership transitions, business restructurings, real estate activity, and succession planningBuild and manage a team of producers and account managers as the practice growsEstablish and maintain carrier relationships across commercial markets and wholesale channelsConduct coverage audits for new clients, identifying program gaps and recommending improvementsOwn the practice P&L — set targets, manage to them, and be accountable for the outcomeWhat We're Looking For15+ years of commercial P&C experience, with meaningful time serving privately held middle-market businessesDemonstrated track record as both a producer and a relationship manager — you source new business and you service itExperience structuring complex multi-line programs — property, casualty, management liability, professional lines, D&O, cyber, and specialty coveragesDeep understanding of the risk needs of entrepreneurs, family offices, and private company ownersComfort advising business owners on insurance strategy in the context of ownership transition, succession, and business restructuring — not transaction advisory or investment banking, but understanding how those events create insurance implicationsFlorida 2-20 license required; additional state licenses a plus given the client baseEstablished carrier relationships and a network within the commercial insurance and advisory communityA builder mentality — this is a founding role and you are energized by itNice to HaveCIC, CPCU, CRM, or CRIS designationExperience with real estate portfolio insurance, construction risk, or management liability for private companiesFamiliarity with the insurance implications of business succession, ownership transitions, and corporate restructuringsExisting relationships with wholesale and surplus lines markets for complex or specialty placementsEstablished referral network with CPAs, estate attorneys, wealth managers, or commercial real estate professionalsExisting book of commercial P&C clients portable to a new platformCompensation & BenefitsBase salary commensurate with experience. Total on-target earnings of $200,000–$400,000 OTE+ with uncapped production-based upside above target.
