Housekeeping

A Housekeeping Supervisor oversees daily cleaning operations to ensure facilities meet high sanitation and guest service standards. They train and schedule staff, inspect guest rooms and common areas, manage supply inventories, and act as a liaison between the cleaning team and management. [1, 2] Core ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership: Conduct morning briefings, assign daily tasks, and manage staff schedules and attendance. [1] Quality Control: Inspect rooms and public spaces to ensure cleanliness, safety, and brand standards are met. Address and resolve substandard work. [1, 2] Training & Development: Train new housekeepers on proper cleaning techniques, chemical safety, and equipment usage. [1, 2] Inventory Management: Monitor stock of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages. [1, 2, 3, 4] Guest Relations: Respond promptly to guest complaints and special requests to ensure a positive experience. [1] Maintenance Coordination: Identify and log maintenance issues (e.g., broken fixtures, plumbing leaks) and coordinate with the maintenance team for Physical Requirements (In-Office Role) Ability to work in a standard office environment. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. (6-8 hours a day) Occasional standing and walking throughout the workday. Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items. Ability to lift and/or move 10-25 pounds as needed (e.g., files, office supplies). Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles).
