A Windows Systems Administrator with SQL Server DBA skills manages Windows server infrastructure, Active Directory, and virtual environments while providing essential maintenance, backups, and performance monitoring for SQL Server databases. Key duties include patching, troubleshooting connectivity, SQL backups, user permissions, and basic index maintenance.Core ResponsibilitiesWindows Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Servers (physical/virtual) and Active Directory.SQL Server Maintenance: Manage SQL Server instances, including installation, patching, upgrades, and configuration.Database Operations: Implement and monitor backups (full/incremental) and ensure data integrity.Security & User Management: Control user permissions, manage database security, and apply patches.Performance Monitoring: Monitor database and server resources (CPU, RAM, disk I/O) to identify bottlenecks.Troubleshooting: Resolve server-level and database-level issues in real-time.Required Skills and QualificationsExperience: 3-5+ years in Windows Server administration.SQL Server Knowledge: Proficiency in SQL Server management tools, T-SQL, and database backup/recovery procedures.Virtualization: Familiarity with VMware or Hyper-V.Scripting: Experience with PowerShell for automating system tasks.Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills to diagnose system failures.Key Focus Areas for This Hybrid RoleBackup & Recovery: Defining and testing disaster recovery strategies.Maintenance: Regularly rebuilding/defragmenting indexes and updating statistics.Collaboration: Assisting developers with query performance tuning.Benefits:BridgeView offers health benefits with national coverage for Medical, Dental, and Vision plans, effective on the first of the month from your date of hire.
