Preferred candidates will have experience using technology in meaningful ways for teaching and learning, will have background in Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS). Located in Rice, MN, twenty minutes northwest from downtown St. Cloud and approximately an hour northwest of the Twin Cities, Rice Elementary School is the focal point in a growing area of Central Minnesota and provides quality programs to approximately 330+ students.Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools is committed to:A culture of high quality and effective instructionPartnerships and collaborationStudent and staff well-beingHigh student achievementStewardship of ResourcesEquitable educationWork Hours:1.0 FTE (.8 FTE Behavior Interventionist & .2 FTE Special Education Lead Teacher) for 182 contract days, plus 5 extra days, for a total of 187 days beginning the 2026-2027 school year.Primary Responsibilities:Assist with administrative dutiesServe as the building administrator when principal is absentManage student behavior proactivelyImplement and strengthen behavior program with research based interventions, while providing support and training for staff and studentsAnticipate and remain proactive when dealing with behavioral situationsMaintain confidentiality when dealing with student, staff and community situationsEffectively communicate with parents, staff, students and community membersWork with administration to assign and monitor caseloadsAssist with and participate in hiring personnelProvide training for and supervision of paraprofessionalsPlan and facilitate staff training and inservicesModel effective behavior management techniques for students and staffAssist with planning and implementing extended school year programs, including but not limited to Targeted ServicesMonitor internal due process procedures Outstanding candidates will be:Effective communicatorsThoughtful and deliberate decision-makersCreative problem solvers with extraordinary relationship skillsInnovative and able to promote and implement quality programsMotivating and positive with students, staff, and parentsA life-long learner and good role modelKnowledgeable in special education due processQualifications:Current Minnesota licensure in a elementary education and/or a special education field or ability to obtain licensure through the tiered licensure system and/or Out of Field Placement.Skills desired include strong communication, classroom management, and organization.Preferred Qualifications:Hold a Minnesota Teaching License with a Professional Administrative K-12 Principal endorsement (or enrolled in a current program working toward receiving this endorsement)Salary and Benefits:Salary based on the 2025-2027 Sauk Rapids-Rice Education Associations Master Agreement starting at $52,166 up to $97,326.Benefits based on full-time employment and may be pro-rated for part-time positions.
