Job Description Mid-Level Environmental Scientist/EcologistJob DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Conduct wetland and stream delineationsPrepare necessary documents required for wetland permittingConduct all studies and prepare all reports related to the Clean Water ActIndependently conduct Phase I Environmental Site AssessmentsManage all aspects of natural resources projectsCoordinate with local, state, and federal resources agencies with regard to wetlands, natural resources, NEPA EIS and related studies and/or permittingServes as project manager on complex regulatory and ecosystem restoration projectsMinimum Qualifications·Bachelor's degree in oceanography/coastal sciences, environmental science, fisheries, wildlife management, biology, or related curriculumMinimum of 8-10 years of environmental consulting experienceDemonstrated experience with state and federal environmental regulatory processesProficient at completing Phase I Environmental Site AssessmentsWorking knowledge of US Army Corps of Engineers requirements for wetland delineations and Section 404/10 permit application submittalsWorking knowledge of wetland and upland plant identification within the Gulf southBe able to demonstrate strong technical writing capabilitiesProficient in basic Microsoft Office Products, specifically Outlook, Word, and ExcelGreat verbal and written communication, analytical, business, customer service, and decision-making skillsHighly-organized and self-motivatedAbility to work in harsh and physically challenging environmentsPreferred QualificationsPreparation of NEPA documents including Environmental Assessments (EA) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS)Proficiency with ArcGIS Mapping softwareCompany DescriptionChenier Environmental Consulting, LLC (Chenier) is a Louisiana-based environmental consulting firm that was established in 2014 with a staff of professionals experienced at conducting a wide range of regulatory, ecological, and environmental consulting services.
