This individual is also responsible for maintaining office hours; and teaching extended day classes, and hybrid/online courses, as required, both on campus and at alternate locations. This individual attends workshops, seminars, and conferences to upgrade teaching skills and assists in the development of curriculum, as needed; All LIT faculty are responsible for recruitment and retention as a part of achieving the Institute’s Shared Vision of Growth and Excellence.Duties/ResponsibilitiesActively engage students in the learning processMaintain ethical and professional behaviorMaintain knowledge of and adherence to the policies and procedures contained in the TSUS and LIT Policies and Procedures ManualParticipate in college service, which includes but is not limited to, committee work, advising and/or tutoring students, and recruitingTeach classes during the fall and spring semesters as required by the department (might include day, evening, weekend, and Early College High School/dual credit); including online coursesProvide mentorship to dual credit partners/menteesAttend Teaching and Learning Center sessions to enhance teaching skillsStay abreast of national matters and trends in educationParticipate in assessment activities for the LIT Core CurriculumAssist in the development of curriculum as neededPerform other related duties, as requiredMinimum/Preferred QualificationsMinimum QualificationsAn Associate Degree in HVAC or related field from a regionally accredited institution is required.Minimum of 2 years of experience in HVAC is required.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Lamar Institute of Technology is an E-Verify Employer.This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
