Because we were established for the purpose of public service and not for profit, we measure our success in the impact of our service.Position Summary:ANSER is seeking an Industrial Base Metallurgy Analyst to support the Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) program within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy (IBP). The IBAS program is dedicated to ensuring that the Department of Defense is positioned to effectively address industrial base issues and support the National Security Innovation Base. In this key role, you will be part of a high-powered team that researches and analyzes strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities within the global critical materials and minerals defense industrial base, recommends relevant prototyping efforts, crafts relevant acquisition documents, evaluates proposed efforts, monitors program execution, conducts outreach efforts, and conducts site visits and strategic communications operations as required.This position is to work onsite at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA and/or telework in the National Capital Region.Day to Day Responsibilities:Coordinate across the DoD, executive interagency, and military services to identify and develop strategies to mitigate critical minerals and materials requirementsSupport the development, maintenance and execution of $1B+ annual budget, spanning dozens of large-scale multinational minerals, materials, and infrastructure projectsSupport development and evaluation of industry project calls to deliver technical capabilities from prototype to full commercial scaleResearch, collect, and analyze data to formulate courses of action, related to mineral production or mineral marketsAssess risk and risk mitigations in supply chains, processing technologies, or project proposalsRepresent government interests in both virtual and in-person meetings, where you'll be responsible for documenting meeting minutes and action itemsDraft high-quality briefings, official correspondence, and analytical products in response to internal and external taskings, ensuring information flows seamlessly across a geographically dispersed teamRequired Qualifications:Active Secret security clearanceBachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as materials and mining, materials science, geophysics, metallurgy, chemistry, geology or similar5+ years of relevant experience in mineral processing, production, science or technology analysis.Understanding of / experience in one of the following technical areas: Critical and Strategic Materials/Minerals, Minerology, Mineral Exploration, or GeologyProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Preferred Qualifications:Prior OSD or staff level experienceDemonstrated knowledge of systems engineering concepts and methodsDemonstrated familiarity with the DoD acquisition process and planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE)Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalentIn compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), if you have a disability and would like to request an accommodation in order to apply for a position with ANSER, please call 703-416-2000 or e-mail Recruiting@anser.org
